Job Description - Software Developer

Salary £25k to £40k.

CPU's Genie web based system runs the insurance and finance business of CPU. It links finance and insurance companies to hundreds of dealers and repairers, to tens of thousands of customers.

It runs the Learning on The Move, Accessibility and iStudent programmes for companies including Apple, Lenovo, HP and Stone.

Genie has also been implemented as a white label system for the Amtrust Group based in North America (200 retailers, 5,000 maintainers and handling 7 million insurance policies).

We are looking for a self motivated developer to continue to build the platform and take it to the next level.

Based in Cornhill, London or Llandysul, Carmarthenshire.

Requirements

Skills in ASP, ASP.Net (C#) & SQL Server.

Dedication, hard work, flexibility, multi-tasking, speed, open mindedness and imagination.

Ability to examine and rapidly understand existing in house code, upgrade existing systems and develop new systems based on those styles without ‘re-inventing the wheel’.

Ability to bring in new technology ideas to improve the platform.

Ability to quickly understand all aspects of our business in house and our clients’ businesses to provide all with an exemplary service. You will not be given explicit specifications; you must be able to understand what the customer needs.

Ability to take full responsibility for projects and complete them within short timescales, with little direction. Ability to manage this in addition to handling urgent support and upgrade issues as and when they arise.

Ability to handle the full development life cycle from initial discussions, quoting, design, development, testing, installation, documentation, training and support.
